Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

This Policy explains what personal data VemoVide collects, why, and the choices you have. It is written to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

1. Data we collect

Account data: your mobile number, and the one-time codes we send to verify it (codes are not stored after use).

Usage data: what you watch, how far you watched, likes, follows, comments and shares, so that Continue watching, your library and recommendations work.

Device and technical data: app version, device model and OS version, language, approximate region from your network, crash and performance diagnostics.

We do not collect payment card details. During the launch period the Service processes no payments.

2. Why we use it

To provide the Service (sign-in, playback, resume, library); to keep the Service safe (fraud, abuse and rate-limit protection); to improve the product (aggregate analytics, crash diagnostics); to communicate service messages; and to comply with legal obligations.

3. Lawful basis and consent

We process your data on the basis of your consent when you create an account and use the features described, and for legitimate uses permitted by law such as security and compliance. You may withdraw consent by deleting your account; some data may be retained where the law requires.

4. Sharing

We share data only with service providers that host and operate the Service under contract (for example cloud hosting and SMS delivery for one-time codes), with Content Partners in aggregate form only (never your identity), and with authorities where the law requires. We do not sell personal data.

5. Advertising

Where episodes can be unlocked by watching an advertisement, the ad may be delivered by a third-party ad network that receives limited technical data to deliver and measure the ad. We will name the networks used in the app before enabling this feature in your region.

6. Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. Viewing history and library data are kept to provide the Service and deleted with your account. Diagnostics are kept for up to 12 months. Legal or security records may be kept longer where required.

7. Your rights

You may access, correct and delete your personal data, withdraw consent, and nominate a person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity. You may raise a grievance with us, and if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India. Requests can be made from the app's settings.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly process a child's data without verifiable parental consent; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring. One-time codes are hashed at rest. No system is perfectly secure; keep your device and number safe.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this Policy; the date above reflects the latest version. Contact details for privacy requests and our grievance officer are published in the app's settings and on this page once appointed.
